Our Garden
Play & learning outside
The nursery has extensive gardens that are an integral part of the environment these are separated in to age appropriate play spaces with opportunities to play outdoors all year round.
We have a decked area for the babies that is safe and secure with a sun sail to protect them in the summer. The Poppies (2-3 yrs) have direct access through patio doors to a safe enclosed space with trees and plants to provide opportunities to learn about nature. They have access to water play a mud kitchen and large construction materials to encourage independence and free choice.

The next area is available to the Bluebells. This is a large space with different gradients and surfaces to encourage balance and coordination. Part of this area benefits from a tree covered, natural and exciting area to build dens, climb up to the tree house or just to run freely. The children are able to access the outdoors in all weathers to enable this we ask you to provide wellies and appropriate clothing according to the weather.
The children learn about nature daily through being outdoors, with the help of our gardener we plant fruit and vegetables to eat and have developed a sensory garden for the children to walk through and learn about ‘Minibeasts’ flowers and plants.
